INDEPENDENT MEDICAL EVALUATIONS (IME) |

Independent medical evaluations are examinations performed by a physician who is not involved in the care of the examinee. The purpose is to clarify issues associated with the case. There is no treating physician/patient relationship established when an IME is performed. IME's are utilized by a variety of sources, including insurers, attorneys and other individuals involved in the case management of worker's compensation, personal injury and disability claims. The independent physician will provide a complete examination and assessment that will be delivered to the requesting party in the form of a report. LEGAL NURSE CONSULTANT InMedical, Inc. offers a comprehensive selection of nursing-legal services to meet the needs of your cases. A legal nurse consultant (LNC) will analyze records, evaluate the case, and render informed opinions. An LNC is a registered nurse who brings a health science education and clinical expertise to healthcare related issues that arise during the claims or litigation process. The LNC will assist in delineating the complex medical issues of your case, while saving you time and money. If you need assistance deciding which doctor to schedule an IME with or if you need help on any case, one of our experienced registered nurses can point you in the right direction. Our nurses have over 17 years of experience working in both claims and case management for worker's compensation and personal injury. This service is complimentary. More about Online Nurse Consulting INDEPENDENT MEDICAL RECORD REVIEW Independent Medical Record Reviews are similar to IME's, except no examination is performed. The claimant's records are reviewed and assessed, and the resulting evaluation is delivered to the requesting party in the form of a report. PERMANENT PARTIAL DISABILITY EXAMINATION This is an IME for the sole purpose of assessing Permanent Partial Disability. In order to determine a fair disability percentage, our physicians will do an in-depth physical examination and review of records. FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY EVALUATION A physical therapist or occupational therapist determines the employee's physical capabilities in order to return them safely to work. FITNESS FOR DUTY An individual is examined for the purpose of determining whether or not he/she is capable of performing the essential functions of a job, regardless of cause. This is often utilized to assess the fitness of people who have non work-related conditions such as diabetes, arthritis and stroke. DIAGNOSTIC FILM INTERPRETATION An independent radiologist reviews films on a particular case and provides an interpretation of the films. BIOMECHANICAL EVALUATION An engineer performs these to evaluate low impact claims of injury. The engineer will determine the potential for injury by recreating the accident conditions and determining the G Forces involved. COVER LETTER DICTATION SERVICE InMedical, Inc.'s Cover Letter Dictation Service allows our clients to dictate their cover letters free of charge. A Quality Assurance representative will review the cover letter for completeness and email or fax it to you for your file, making the IME process easy and expedient. Cover Letter Dictation Instructions INTERPRETING SERVICES InMedical, Inc. offers interpreting services for all languages. If you need a letter sent to your claimant in another language or even a telephone call, InMedical, Inc. can arrange to have this done. We also do recorded statements for your file. We will provide you with a copy in English and the language requested. The typical turnaround time for all Interpretation services is 7 business days. If you need a report done on a rush basis we will do everything we can to accommodate that request. |
